Exhibition Gallery: Symbiosis
Purity and stasis make Trisha nervous. Rather than classic or naturalistic bodies, she is drawn to fantastic figures with improbable anatomies. Changelings and hybrids can mark a disruption of the status quo. Their irrational shapes can signal the emergence of repressed emotions and desires usually kept below the polite surface. I have always been interested in using sculpture to express what is felt but not said. Anger, pain, death, and sexuality are here but mixed with a dash of operatic bravado and wry selfassessment. Trisha's figurative sculpture captures Symbiosis in every sense: psychological, biological, and ___________.
