Honoring David MacDonald. Featuring silent and live auctions, cocktails, seated dinner, and live music by the Gabriel Ware Quintet featuring Lafayette Gilchrist.

Auctioneer: David Paul Bacharach.

The 2008 honoree, David MacDonald, was recently named professor emeritus at Syracuse University after teaching for nearly 4 decades. MacDonald is strongly influenced by political and social issues and his pottery reflects African heritage and homage to tradition. David MacDonald has been a visiting artist at Baltimore Clayworks a number of times, and was instrumental in the establishment of Clayworks’ first satellite in Mondawmin Mall.

Silent auction items include artful textiles, elegant jewelry, unique wood and ceramics. One of a kind art pieces from regional and national artists will be available for bidding. Auctioneer David Paul Bacharach will lead the live auction with cultural events such as Year of Dining, Film Festival packages, and A Day at the Races. All funds raised at The Clay Ball directly support artistic and educational programs at Baltimore Clayworks.

All proceeds of this event support artistic, educational, and collaborative programming at Baltimore Clayworks.
