2009 Pimlico Road Spring & Summer Classes

Baltimore Clayworks is pleased to present another fun season of grant-supported programming at its satellite studio inside the Pimlico Road Arts and Community Center, located at 4330 Pimlico Road, directly across the street from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and a free, secure parking lot.

Senior Adult’s Clay Program

Fee: $10 per 8 week class. Includes all materials.

Spring

  • Express Yourself (Ages 10-13)
    Participants use handbuilding techniques to express their thoughts and discoveries in clay.

    Students celebrate the adults in their lives by creating scenes of family using the unlimited possibilities of the coil technique.

  • Woodfire it! (Ages 10-13)
    Learn about the history and community surrounding the wood kiln, make pots and participate in a community woodfire at Clayworks!

  • Make it Your Way (Ages 10-13)
    Participants have the chance to make their dream project using slab, coil and pinch techniques.

    Students build upon the spring session by creating animal sculptures using coil.

We Can Do It!
Workshops for Adults and Children

Baltimore Clayworks invites young people to bring along a special adult for an afternoon of art-making! Each adult may accompany up to two young people ages 6-17. More than one adult may attend with a child. Fee: $5 per person. Includes all materials.

  • Community Woodfire
    Create a pot for yourself and another to fire in the woodkiln. Participants will handbuild cups and bowls at the workshop and experience loading and stoking the kiln, to fire their work in the wood kiln in May.

  • Let It Grow!
    Handbuild your own pinch pot planter to use for every herb and season!

2 Week Classes For Adults

All adults come on out and try your hands at ceramics! In these workshops you create a mosaic or hand built clay piece in two weeks. All materials included. Students are encouraged to bring in found objects and tiles for mosaic.
Fee: $50

    Create your own mirror and mosaic frame.

Pimlico Road Open House

In continuing our collaboration with our Pimlico Road Satellite Studio, Baltimore Clayworks is proud to host our Pimlico Road Open House. Work from our spring and summer 2009 sessions will be on display for family and friends to come and enjoy, snacks and refreshments will be provided. Work can be picked up after 12:00 pm.
