Mask Making
The Mask Making exhibit is a result of study focused on masks and their purposes in a variety of cultures including, but not limited to, African, Roman, Egyptian and American. Some of the masks are made to embody sprits while others are made for the sheer pleasure one feels while wearing a mask.
The study of the various uses of mask also lead to the variety of materials used to create masks. The students listed below used clay, plaster, and paper maché to create the form of the masks. Each mask also includes a variety of materials selected by the students to give each mask its unique appeal.
The student artists included in this eight week class are listed below and range from ages 8-12.
Student Artists: Taylor Wainwright, Quantay Threet, Emanuelle Servetine, Teirra Evans, Seirra Evans, Larissa Bell, Daquan Bowrin, Jasmine Woods, Jeremiah Woods
