Have you fallen in love with porcelain? It can be intoxicating, sensuous, ecstatic, and the most engaging clay you have ever touched. It can also be the most frustrating. Try your hand in this 12-week course by exploring the surface possibilities of this material while expanding the limits of the shaping round, oval, square and asymmetrical forms. Students will gain a solid foundation for throwing and shaping porcelain in addition to combining thrown-and-assembled parts off of the wheel. Particulars related to surface treatments, glaze application and firing will be addressed in detail in this class. This course is for students who have completed at least two of the following throwing courses: Intro, Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Wheel.
