Do you draw a blank after throwing or trimming a leather-hard pot? Wondering what glaze to use and how to liven up the surface…This workshop will help you embellish the surface and take some of the guess work out of wet and leather-hard surface decoration. Using a variety of slips, Collette will explore the diverse possibilities of decorating pottery at the leather-hard stage. Scrafitto, masking, trailing, inlay and carving techniques will all be demonstrated. Students are encouraged to bring pots at the leather-hard stage to experiment with the wonders of building the wet surface.
