Shannon McArdle
Shannon grew up in Malone, NY which is in the Adirondack Mountains. While growing up Shannon enjoyed skiing, hiking, boating, and camping, all of which have made her a lover of nature.
She received a BFA in sculpture from SUNY Fredonia, there she developed most of her beginner skills as a potter. While pursuing sculpture Shannon soon decided that she was no longer interested in highly conceptual art, at this point she decided that she wanted the humble life of a potter.
“All I have ever wanted to do is make beautiful objects; clay allows me to achieve this without the addition of any symbolism, concepts or slants that distort my intentions.”
While at Baltimore Clayworks, Shannon is working on building up both her portfolio and knowledge in hopes of pursuing Graduate school in the near future.
