Artist's Statement

My pots still won’t ‘settle down’, but one can still tell that they are related. They are a family of six different clay bodies ranging from translucent porcelain, light and dark stoneware, to a groggy sculpture clay. They may have been fired in a gas kiln or a wood kiln, all are high fired in a reducing atmosphere and glazed in food-safe glazes. I try to make pieces that feel good in ones hands with colors that are sometimes clear and soothing, and sometimes bright and playful. I hope that people will enjoy using them and seeing them.
