Artist Statement

Nature has long been a source of inspiration for artistic creation. Painters, sculptors, photographers, and others observe nature, then recreate and incorporate the wonderful shapes, colors, textures, and patterns found in natural forms. If imagination is added to observation, artists' creations can break the laws of nature and even have a little fun.

Although often calm and restrained, my porcelain forms may spontaneously dance together, embrace one another, gather for conversation or joyously twirl around. Hopefully their activity will be revealed if the viewer observes with an imaginative eye.
