Juror John Glick founded Plum Tree Pottery in 1964 and continues to be a studio potter. His selection for the exhibition is guided by “looking forward to seeing what potters are doing with two pottery forms that hold a special place in the ‘making lists’ for so many. I cannot recall a time in my own studio career when plates and pouring vessels were far from my own enthusiastic endeavors. Is a plate always relatively flat? What do pouring vessels need to do... always be purely functional? Is there room to invite whimsy or surprise in the making of these forms? Conceptual? What is going on out there?”
