For over 30 years, Deborah Bedwell has been a dominant force in the ceramics community as a potter, teacher, co-founder of Baltimore Clayworks, arts administrator, and community arts trailblazer and advocate. Leading Clayworks as the organization’s only Executive Director, Deborah has been a visionary in shaping a small clay collective into a nationally and internationally recognized ceramic arts center. Bedwell is known for creating the Taiwanese visiting artist exchange, developing a model for community arts satellite programming in inner city communities and developing Tour de Clay, the largest ceramic arts concurrent exhibition event in the world, featuring 207 exhibitions in 176 venues.
