In this 4-week intensive course students will construct a cat-sized creature of their own design. The sculpture might be of a traditional mythical beast such as a Chinese Kirin or an Egyptian Sphinx. It could also be a representation an actual animal or a self-portrait of yourself as a Labrador retriever. The choice is yours. Students will learn building techniques that will help you get your beast off the ground and onto its four (or six) legs. The instructor will also discuss animal anatomy and how it differs and is similar to our own as well as ways of replicating fur, scales, skin and muscle. Participants should have some previous hand-building experience.
