Handmade Tile and Mosaics

Fee: $325 Members; $345 non-members
This 12-week class will focus first on the creation of handmade tile. Through demonstrations and class projects students will be exposed to: stamping, using slips and underglaze, creating stencils, scgraffitto, Mishima, shellac resist, simple printing, construction and use of simple press molds, and more. Participants will also learn the basics of mosaic design, layout, and installation. Students are welcome to bring their own mosaic pieces which may include the following: broken china, tile, marble, colored glass, smooth pebbles, etc No previous clay experience is necessary, return students will have the opportunity to work on more complex projects, or further explore personal design.
