The Matching Game: Creating Functional Tableware
In this 12-week course for intermediate level potters will refine their throwing techniques through the design and fabrication of a variety of matching sets. The emphasis of this class will be on exploring the relationships created between a range of utilitarian forms and through expanding the interaction and interface between objects when creating tableware settings. Students should anticipate a 4-week design and production cycle for three basic forms: cup, bowl and plate. Dinnerware sets may include multiple plates, goblets, cups and saucers, bowls and large scale service pieces. This course is for students comfortable at an Intermediate level looking to explore form. Course fee includes 25 lbs. of clay and bisque firing.
