Dine On: Plates, Chargers and Serving Bowls
In this 12-week course for intermediate level potters will refine their throwing techniques while exploring a variety plate forms. An emphasis will be placed on the planning and preparation necessary prior to sitting at the wheel while learning to craft utilitarian tableware which is balanced, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Demonstrations will address specific centering, shaping and trimming methods with an emphasis placed on throwing all shapes and sizes possible. Glaze technique and surface decoration for ^10 will be discussed with each form. Students may choose to explore unique individual pieces or focus on designing and building service settings. This course is for Intermediate level potters. Course fee includes 25 lbs. of clay and bisque firing.
