In this 12-week class you will push the limits of your skill using techniques on and off the wheel to create vessels or sculpture that are of a scale larger than you have worked before. Several techniques will be demonstrated and worked through for creating large vases, planters, bowls, jars, platters, and anything else you would like to attempt in clay. Throwing and coiling, stacked vessels, and handling large masses of clay on the wheel will be covered. Surface treatment for large pieces including slipping and glazing will also be covered. This course is for students comfortable at an Intermediate level.
