Education

Tour de Clay is an unprecedented collaboration among artists, galleries and leaders from the Greater Baltimore cultural community who have joined together to showcase all possibilities of art in clay. 160 exhibits featuring 878 artists from around the world will be held in 122 venues throughout the Greater Baltimore region beginning February 19th and continuing through April 3rd, 2005.

In an effort to utilize the visual, inspirational and educational opportunities inherent in such an event, we have compiled a teaching guide to serve as a resource for art educators. Exhibitions will display work that will be sculptural or functional, figurative or abstract, traditional as well as those that push the boundaries of the material, thereby providing a wealth of lesson possibilities for the three-dimensional requirements of the curriculum as well as parallel references for the two-dimensional aspects.

This website serves to further strengthen the mission of Baltimore Clayworks which is to develop, promote and sustain an artist centered community that provides outstanding artistic, educational and collaborative programming in the ceramic arts.
